Our new exclusive Dahlia range are both focused on Contemporary & Modern tailored homes. Design and colours are both muted and soft, so if you are looking to give a hint of texture or a dash of colour, this could be just the thing to bring everything together.
Dahlia Light Grey Dark Grey Runner earns its keep because it gets out of its own way.
On the design
What is happening at the surface is straightforward. Grey rugs sit quietly in a room and let the rest of the space do the talking — it's why they outsell almost everything else we carry. There is enough variation in the weave to keep the rug from reading flat — it has depth without busyness. Up close, you can see how the colour shifts slightly across the pile — that subtle variation is what stops the surface looking printed.
Practical notes
Picture polished concrete floors and high white walls with skirting in cream — that is the kind of room this rug is at home in. For everyday care, vacuum weekly and spot-clean spills as they happen — a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent handles almost anything. Rug pad underneath on a hard floor — that is the one accessory we would not skip.
About the make
The short version: Made in Turkey on power looms. Turkey has been the centre of rug-making for centuries, and the power-loom tradition that came out of Anatolia in the late 20th century is what makes a piece like this possible at a sensible price. If a rug is going to sit in a room where life actually happens, polypropylene is the fibre we trust to handle it. At 18mm, the pile is on the plusher side of our range — it has the kind of give that makes a bedroom rug worth waking up to. Density is what matters with a piece like this — it is what gives the rug its longevity.
Sizing
For hallways and galley kitchens, the 80x300cm length we run here is the most commonly bought — our Rug Size Guide walks through how to pick the right length for your space.
If your starting point is 'something honest that doesn't shout', this is the rug to short-list.
Common questions
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
Does it work with a robot vacuum?
Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.
