FEATURES:

Among the silver rugs we currently carry, Alaska Light Grey is one of the most-bought.

Practical notes

Day to day, the construction is UV-stable and the fibre does not absorb water — hose it down, let it dry in the sun, and it is back in service. Wipe spills with a damp cloth, vacuum on a regular setting, and rotate the rug end-to-end once a year. Nothing else is required. We sell more of this style to families with school-age children than to any other group, which says something about how it lives.

How it looks

What is happening at the surface is straightforward. Silver rugs sit between grey and ivory and tend to read either way depending on the light through the day. The motif is restrained enough to sit under almost any furniture without competing. Layered over a hard floor, it gives a room the visual weight it usually needs at floor level.

What's under the surface

Produced for genuine everyday wear. What matters with this piece is the construction — it's made to take real family use without fuss. Polypropylene is the fibre we end up recommending in roughly four out of five conversations with new customers. It is honest, hard-wearing, and forgiving. The 8mm pile sits in the sweet spot for everyday living — soft enough to feel good underfoot, short enough that the vacuum gets right to the base. Pile twist and density together are what give this piece the longevity that the warranty implies.

Picking the right size

A 200x290cm covers most three-seater living rooms; a 240x330cm suits the larger open-plan layouts that have become common in new Australian builds. Our Rug Size Guide shows you which fits.

We'd back this one as a confident first rug for any family home.

Questions we get asked

Will the colour look the same as the website photo?

Very close, but never identical — every screen renders colour slightly differently, and the rug itself will read warmer or cooler depending on the light in your room. If you want certainty, message us and we'll send additional photos taken in natural light.

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.

Is the back of the rug latex-coated?

The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.

Will it cope with kids and pets?

Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.

How do I get rid of a stain?

Hose it down. If the spill is something serious, a mild detergent and a soft brush will get the rest, and the sun finishes the job.
