A statement of style, this collection features bold, contemporary designs. Machine woven to the highest quality in Turkey, these rugs feature a easy care polypropylene fiber to complement your home.
Among the grey rugs we currently carry, Novas Grey Turquoise is one of the most-bought.
On the design
Grey rugs sit quietly in a room and let the rest of the space do the talking — it's why they outsell almost everything else we carry. Stand a metre back and the pattern recedes into texture — that quality is why the rug reads calm rather than busy. Photographs flatten the surface; in person, the weave reads with more dimension than any catalogue image can convey.
What's under the surface
The short version: Turkish-made. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. If a rug is going to sit in a room where life actually happens, polypropylene is the fibre we trust to handle it. This is a 15mm pile — soft, considered, with enough density to spring back from foot traffic without flattening. Run your hand across the surface and the pile feels even from corner to corner — that consistency is what separates a well-made rug from a budget one.
Day-to-day
In practice, it earns its keep in any room that has Spotted gum floors as a starting point. Wipe spills with a damp cloth, vacuum on a regular setting, and rotate the rug end-to-end once a year. Nothing else is required. Drag a chair, drop a fork, knock over the wine — this construction tolerates all three.
Picking the right size
We carry this in a few sizes — a 160x230cm sits well under a coffee table, a 200x290cm anchors a standard three-piece lounge, and the 240x330cm extends well past a queen bed. See our Rug Size Guide for the full layout breakdown.
If the rest of your room is settled, Novas Grey Turquoise will not unsettle it.
Questions we get asked
Can I steam clean this rug?
Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.
Will it cope with kids and pets?
Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.
Can I return it if it isn't right?
Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.
Will it sit flat once unrolled?
Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
Does the rug have a strong smell when it arrives?
There may be a faint factory or packaging smell on opening — it airs out within a day or two. Lay the rug out, open the windows, and it will settle quickly.
