Our new exclusive Millard range are both focused on Contemporary & Modern tailored homes. Design and colours are both muted and soft, so if you are looking to give a hint of texture or a dash of colour, this could be just the thing to bring everything together.
Pick up a corner of Millard Grey Turquoise and the density of the weave is the first thing you'll register.
Colour and pattern
What is happening at the surface is straightforward. There's a reason grey has been the default neutral of the last decade — it forgives, it cools, and it lets coloured furniture and art read clearly above it. There is depth to the surface — the weave changes height subtly across the pattern, which is what gives the rug its tactile quality. From the kitchen looking through to the lounge, the rug reads as a single grounding plane rather than a competing pattern.
How it's made
In one line: Made in Turkey. The Turkish weaving industry has refined power-loom production to a point where the result is genuinely close to the look of a traditionally woven rug. If a rug is going to sit in a room where life actually happens, polypropylene is the fibre we trust to handle it. This is a 18mm pile — soft, considered, with enough density to spring back from foot traffic without flattening. The construction is built to take the daily compression of foot traffic without flattening through the centre.
Picking the right size
If this is going under a dining table, measure the table and add at least 60cm on each side so the chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. The Rug Size Guide walks through the details.
How it handles real life
This is the kind of piece that works in a Bondi apartment renovation that needs warmth without sacrificing the polished concrete underneath. Vacuum on a medium setting weekly, and once a month go over the rug end-to-end with the suction set higher to lift trapped dust from the base. Pet hair vacuums out cleanly — the fibre does not hold dander the way a natural pile sometimes can. A good shake outdoors once a season and a regular vacuum is the whole maintenance story.
Millard Grey Turquoise suits the customer who wants the room finished, not the next decision.
FAQs
Can I put a rug pad underneath?
Yes, and we'd recommend it on hard floors. A pad keeps the rug from slipping, adds a little extra softness underfoot, and helps the pile wear evenly over time.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
How long does delivery take to my address?
Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.
How thick is the rug overall?
The total thickness includes the pile plus the backing — for most of our rugs, that ends up somewhere between 8mm and 30mm depending on the pile listed. If you need a precise figure for a door clearance, message us and we'll measure.
Will the pattern repeat be obvious?
Not on this construction. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so you won't see the kind of seam-like repetition you sometimes get with a printed surface.
