Introducing the luxurious and stylish "Finnegan" rug! Crafted from premium quality polypropylene, this rug boasts an intricate high and low pile contour that adds depth and texture to your space. The soft touch pile of this rug is sure to delight your senses, providing a cozy and comfortable feel underfoot.

Our customers buy Finnegan Teak Water Runner for one of two reasons: the colour, or the way it photographs in a finished room.

About the look

The colour story matters here. Blue is a forgiving colour in a rug — it reads calm, it works in coastal rooms, and it sits beautifully against the white walls common in Australian builds. Design-wise, the surface is restrained enough to layer with strong artwork or strong upholstery without competing. Stand in the doorway and the rug barely registers; sit on the floor and the texture and pile depth come forward.

Practical notes

In practice, this style sits well over blackbutt floorboards, particularly when the rest of the room runs to soft Dulux Whisper White interiors. Polyester takes well to spot-cleaning — a damp cloth, cool water, and mild detergent will handle most everyday spills. We have customers who have lived with the same rug for the better part of a decade. It still looks intentional.

What's under the surface

Underneath the look, from Turkey's long power-loom tradition. Turkey remains the place where heritage design and modern weaving meet most comfortably — you get the look of a hand-knotted rug at a fraction of the cost. Polyester yarns hold dye exceptionally well, which is why the colours on this piece look as rich as they do. Build quality holds up to close inspection — there are no shortcuts in the weave or the finish.

Which size?

For hallways and galley kitchens, the 80x300cm length we run here is the most commonly bought — our Rug Size Guide walks through how to pick the right length for your space.

If you want the room to look finished from the day the rug arrives, Finnegan Teak Water Runner delivers on that.

Things customers ask

Can I return it if it isn't right?

Yes — we offer a clear returns window because we know a rug needs to be seen in the actual room. The details are on our returns page, and we'll talk you through it if anything is unclear.

Can I steam clean this rug?

Light steam is fine for synthetic pile. Avoid prolonged direct heat in one spot, and let the rug dry completely before walking on it.

Does it work with a robot vacuum?

Yes for low and medium piles. For the deeper shaggies in our range, a robot vacuum will struggle a bit — you'll get better results with a regular upright on a higher setting.

Will it cope with kids and pets?

Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.

Is the colour the same on both sides?

No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
