FEATURES:
There is nothing showy about long-island Cream Beige, and that is precisely the point.
How it looks
Looked at honestly, the design is doing two things. Cream-based rugs sit comfortably in almost any palette — they brighten without bleaching the room out. The pattern is woven across the full face of the rug rather than printed, so it has real depth in the surface. It is the kind of surface that lets the rest of your room read clearly without competing.
Practical notes
Day to day, the construction is UV-stable and the fibre does not absorb water — hose it down, let it dry in the sun, and it is back in service. Spot-clean with mild detergent and cool water. Avoid harsh chemicals — they're not needed and can damage the dye. Rug pad underneath on a hard floor — that is the one accessory we would not skip.
Construction
In one line: Carefully made for everyday family use. What matters with this piece is the construction — it's made to take real family use without fuss. Heat-set polypropylene yarns hold their twist for years — that is what stops the pile flattening under a coffee table or sofa leg. At 8mm, this is a sensible everyday pile — substantial without being shaggy, easy to keep clean. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.
Picking the right size
Sizes range across our usual run — if you're unsure which to pick, our Rug Size Guide walks through the common Australian room layouts.
long-island Cream Beige suits the customer who wants the room finished, not the next decision.
Questions we get asked
Will it cope with kids and pets?
Yes, comfortably. Synthetic pile is stain-resistant, doesn't snag under claws, and lifts spills cleanly. It's the construction we recommend most to growing families.
Will this rug shed?
No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.
Is the colour the same on both sides?
No — the pile side is the finished face. The reverse shows the construction and is usually a slightly different colour because the dye penetrates the surface rather than the entire fibre.
Is the back of the rug latex-coated?
The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.
Can I cut the rug to size?
We don't recommend cutting a finished rug — the edges are bound and the construction relies on that binding to stay intact. If you need a custom size, message us and we'll see what's possible.
