Navy and cream is a combination that has earned its place in Australian interiors — reliable, handsome, and capable of working across every style from Hamptons coastal to contemporary minimal. The Eternal Coastal Navy Cream rug brings this classic pairing into a dense, plush format with a border design that grounds the whole look.

Eternal Coastal Navy Cream Modern is one of the rugs we recommend to customers who have already bought a wool piece elsewhere and want something more practical for a high-traffic room.

Day-to-day

In practice, this style sits well over polished concrete floors, particularly when the rest of the room runs to warm white interiors. For shaggy polyester piles, vacuum on a higher setting (or with the beater bar off) and shake the rug out periodically. A good shake outdoors once a season and a regular vacuum is the whole maintenance story.

How it looks

Worth a moment on the look of it. A grey-toned rug is the easiest way to anchor a room without committing to a strong palette. The pattern reads as quietly contemporary rather than fashionable — the kind of design that doesn't date in a hurry. Layered over a hard floor, it gives a room the visual weight it usually needs at floor level.

Built and finished

In one line: Anatolian-woven. Turkey remains the place where heritage design and modern weaving meet most comfortably — you get the look of a hand-knotted rug at a fraction of the cost. Polyester yarns hold dye exceptionally well, which is why the colours on this piece look as rich as they do. At 11mm, this is a sensible everyday pile — substantial without being shaggy, easy to keep clean. Selvedges are finished cleanly so the rug sits flush against itself without curling at the edges.

Picking the right size

A 200x290cm covers most three-seater living rooms; a 240x330cm suits the larger open-plan layouts that have become common in new Australian builds. Our Rug Size Guide shows you which fits.

Eternal Coastal Navy Cream Modern is for you if your brief is calm, considered, and easy to live with.

FAQs

How long does delivery take to my address?

Most metro orders arrive within 3–7 business days. Regional and remote addresses can take a little longer. We'll send tracking the moment your rug leaves the warehouse.

Will this rug shed?

No, not in the meaningful sense. Synthetic pile is heat-set rather than spun from short staple fibres, so you may see a small amount of fibre in the first week and very little after that.

Is the back of the rug latex-coated?

The backing is a standard textile finish — it sits flat on the floor and won't mark timber boards. For hard floors, we'd still recommend a rug pad to keep it from sliding.

Will the rug fade in direct sun?

Some fade is possible if a rug sits in direct, unfiltered sun day after day — that's true of any rug. The dyes used here are UV-stabilised and hold up well to the conditions in most Australian rooms.

Will it sit flat once unrolled?

Almost always within 24–48 hours. If you see any waves from the rolled packaging, lay the rug pile-up in the room and let it relax overnight — gravity does the rest. For stubborn corners, rolling the rug briefly in the opposite direction usually does it.
